About Us
The historic Grass Valley United Methodist Church launched the Church Street Concert Series in February, 2025. The concerts are performed in the church santuary.
The Methodist Church in Grass Valley was established in 1849 with the first church completed by 1855. A larger church was built on the present location in 1877.
Although the original church burned down in 1935, the existing church was rebuilt in 1937. With outstanding acoustics and ambiance, the church sanctuary is an amazing host for the variety of musicians.
The Church Street Concert Series is intended to the GVUMC become a more active part of the community that came to life way back in 1852!
We are proud of our heritage and the role our church has played in this community in the decades since those early gold mining days. Our hope is that as you participate in our concerts, your Spirit will be filled with energy, laughter, hope and a deepening conviction about the ways in which we can be a caring community as we are blessed to live and work together in these wonderful foothills.

What we are about
The people of the Grass Valley United Methodist Church hold to the conviction that we are called to approach our faith with an openness that engages our hearts, expands our minds and expresses itself in a deep-rooted compassion for, and service to, others. In a time of growing isolation, we want to be a part of a movement that breaks down barriers and makes room at the table for any and all. We remember that we are all on this journey together, helping one another to find the way forward, one step at a time.
